Problem with downloading Minecraft Modloader?

I open all the files with WinRaR and all. I 'Download;' the modloader pack and all. but when i get to the step of drag and drop the necessary files into the Minecraft.jar file, it would let me for some reason. It just brings up an error message. any thoughts?
